What could be more fun than racing in a costume and being served cookies all day long?
Teams that dress in costumes maximize their fun quota. Some develop song and dance routines, others don’t hold back with coordinated, hand-crafted outfits. Some simply throw together a bit of this and a bit of that – let your creativity fly! Just remember as you plan your outfits, racers must still wear a numbered bib and a legit racing helmet, we don’t want anyone to get hurt.

Stacking the cookie table with homemade goodies is a grand venture. Watching 450 teens mow through those cookies, leaving behind some crumby bits and pieces, is even grander. Gather together with teammates or family members and bring a dozen or two homemade cookies to the event. If possible, make some gluten-free or nut-free batches and boldly mark them as so – everyone deserves a cookie or three. [Once the day is done, don’t forget to retrieve your cookie container so you can re-use it next year.]

Last but certainly not least is the awards assembly. Held outdoors near the finish area – sun shining, snowing, or slushy – we gather about an hour after the race to award medals, acknowledge costume creativity, and toss a ton of swag into the crowd. Be there and be ready to groove to the music.
